Mediterranean colours (2 pianos 4 hands)
This highly coloured program will carry the listener to the shining borders of the Mediterranean Sea. The beautiful, balmy Mediterranean sounds and exotic harmonies and rhythms are coming out brilliantly on the piano, demonstrating the versatility of this instrument. Rome is particularly well honoured in this program through the animated Berlioz Overture Roman Carnival and the two famous tone poems by Respighi depicting the Fountains and the Pines of the eternal city. Spain is depicted through the famous BolÚro by Ravel as well as the dry but invigorating Sinfonietta Flamenca by Carlos Suri˝ach, a singular work inspired by the Andalousian singing style called "cante jondo".
